Connect to the Health app and your workout data, such as active time, estimated active calories (if enabled), gets saved to the Health app
For any non-fitness activity, you can choose ‘Non-fitness’ from the activity picker and the time won’t get saved to the Health app

Active calories are the calories burned during the active period of the workout
